You own your own business, and you may be a plumber, an electrician, or another number of self-employed people. Think for a moment. You are involved in an accident, and your work vehicle is on your personal policy. Are You Covered? Well, the answer is maybe. One of the two most common scenarios will occur, the company will either 1 pay the claim and then set the policy up to cancel on renewal. Or 2, deny the claim because the vehicle was misrepresented to them. I know what you are thinking; business auto insurance is too expensive; I cannot afford that. Most people do not realize that you can have higher liability limits on business policies that protect your assets. Most people do not think of a little-known fact to think about having a family with multiple young drivers. Placing your work vehicle on its own business policy would most likely be cheaper than having it with your personal policy. If this message spoke to you about getting your work vehicles covered, please do not hesitate to give one of our agents a call, and we can make sure you are covered correctly.
This is the fourth part of the Am I Covered Series. I am looking forward to the weeks to come of passing my knowledge along to you.
